Gentagne selvmordsforsøg reduceret ved behandling med kognitiv adfærdsterapi

jamaEn randomiseret kontrolleret undersøgelse publiceret i Journal of American Medical Association fandt at kognitiv adfærdsterapi (CBT) er en effektiv behandling til at reducere antallet af gentagne selvmordsforsøg hos voksne.

Tidligere har forskningen primært fokuseret på intensiv follow-up behandling eller intensiv case styring, interpersonel psykoterapi eller kognitiv adfærdsterapi som den forebyggende behandling af selvmordsforsøg, men empiriske beviser for effekten af disse behandlinger har været begrænset. Den aktuelle undersøgelse har til formål at undersøge effekten af kognitiv adfærdsterapi som en forebyggende behandling for selvmord ved at foretage en randomiseret kontrolleret undersøgelse.
